Thank you

I thank the people of the Illinois second congressional district for their support. They opened the doors to their homes, churches and organizations to me and I was honored to be invited in. I was met warmly by people on the streets of Chicago and the suburbs and enjoyed the time I spent talking with them about issues that impact their lives every day.

I congratulate Congressman Jackson on his re-election wish him success in addressing the issues he will be faced with in the coming days of his term. Thank you to the Reverend Anthony Williams who ran a passionate campaign and was a pleasure to talk with at the numerous functions we attended.

Those that have been elected to represent the people should never lose sight of what matters most and that is the people they represent, their needs and concerns. There are battles yet to be won beyond our borders but equally as important are the battles that must be won in our neighborhoods. Economic growth, education and crime are but a few that we must win at home. Now that the mid-term elections are over it is time for all people, of all parties to unite and find common ground on issues if we are to insure success. When united there is nothing that the people of this great nation can not achieve and we deserve that those who have been elected to represent us will display that same unity.

I was humbled when the people of this district chose me as their candidate for this race and owe them a debt of gratitude for their continued support. May God bless you all.

Thank you,
